It’s fun and challenging to find the right things to include in our kits as we want to make sure that they are not only useful but are a joy to receive. It’s not just a case of doing a Google search on a hobby and popping the first things mentioned in to our kits. Our aim is for all items to be practical and ethically sourced. In addition to this, we like everything to be produced in the UK, whenever possible. We’re really keen on this which is why the contents of the kits change so often – we’re always on the lookout for UK sourced items.
Which brings me to the subject of this article – why we’ve chosen The Soap Co. You may not have heard of them but they create lovely bath and beauty products with splendid fragrances, minimalist design and a strong social and environmental ethos. So they tick all our boxes. Not only this, but they’re a social enterprise providing training and work opportunities for people who are visually impaired, have disabilities or are otherwise disadvantaged. All their products are made in Keswick and London and they’re proud to be powered by people, not by machines!
The Soap Co. has recently extended their range to include Wild Nettle & Sage hand wash and lotion…bee friendly, vegan and never tested on animals. The Citrus set is already in our new home kit but we’re now introducing the Wild Nettle and Sage hand care set to some of our Gardener’s Keep kits – the perfect remedy for worn out hands after a day of working hard in the garden. They'll be in our kits from next week so watch this space.
